TRANSCENDENTAL PHYSICS,
utilizing a single assumption, Dr. Edward R. Close presents the elements
of a comprehensive science that includes matter, energy, time, space
and the conscious observer. Transcendental Physics integrates the search
for answers to questions ranging from the mind-body problem, to survival
of consciousness after death, to the frontiers of quantum physics and
relativity. Proceeding from a single assumption, the inner
world of consciousness and the outer world of physical phenomena
can be united, contemplated and explored within one logically consistent
system of thought.
THIS SCIENTIFIC THEORY is the culmination of more than forty years of thought, experimentation and research. The book Transcendental Physics, first published in June, 1997, outlines the concepts, empirical evidence, and logic that leads to a new paradigm providing a natural framework for further investigation of a reality composed of matter, energy and consciousness. THE CALCULUS OF DISTINCTIONS, a new non-numerical mathematics that allows the scientist to include consciousness in the equations that describe the basic laws of nature, is a mathematical method adapted from G. Spencer Browns calculus of indications published in Laws of Form, 1969. The Calculus of Distinctions was first developed by Edward R. Close in 1986 and published in 1990 as Infinite Continuity, A Theory Unifying Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. The Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics, Bells Theorem, and the Aspect Experiment have proven that quanta exist only as probabilities until an observation is made. The Calculus of Distinctions is applied to scientifically known events occurring at the first moment of physical creation with the following results:
Transcendental Physics is the first complete theory to satisfactorily encompass quantum mechanics, relativity and consciousness. Replacing the several assumptions of current theory with a single assumption, Transcendental Physics and the new mathematics described in the Calculus of Distinctions provide the basis for a shift from a materialistic-based science to a consciousness-based science and opens the door to undreamed of possibilities that may be tested empirically and explored through rational, scientific research.
